Configuring Your System Usage Policy Campus Maps |
Windows Vista Software Configuration for WirelessFollow the steps to configure your laptop to work on the wireless network. Step 1: Click on "Start", right-click on "Network" and then click on "Properties".
The Network and Sharing Center window will open. Step 2: Under "Tasks", located on the left side of the window, click on the "Manage network connections" link.
The Network Connections window will open. Step 3: Right-click on your "Wireless Network Connection" and select "Properties".
The Wireless Network Connections window will open. Step 4: Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and the click the "Properties" button.
Step 5: Under the tab "General" make sure that "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" are selected. Click "OK" to approve the settings. Click "OK" to close the "Wireless Network Connections".
Step 6: Back at the "Network and Sharing Center". Under "Tasks", located on the left side of the window, click on the "Connect to a network" link.
The Connect to a network window will open. Step 7: If you are in a designated Rutgers Newark wireless area and click on the "Refresh" button. NCS-WLAN will be listed in the center of the window.
